When starting my internship with Stephan Jacobs I didn’t intend on doing a full re-branding of his production/DJ name I only expected to help him with social networking as well as other tasks. But when I presented a few ideas I had to Stephan, he was more than pleased to let me help him with his image. I then extended my reach to become his personal designer to help him embody his latest musical productions. In the next few months I created a Logo, Album Artwork, as well as website design for him. We continue to expand our ventures with such productions as Pizza Party including the talented NiT GRiT.

When creating a logo the best idea is to give more options than less. So I did a rounded version as well as a square version. This allows me to show the way the logo presents itself can vary greatly in presence and message by giving it hard or soft edges.

This event was inspired by the image of a satellite searching the heavens for undiscovered information and talent that is the network of artists making up the Electronic Music Industry right now. This brought one thought, science fiction, the sci-fi logo was created to brand the flyer and poster like a soft cover novel or comic book. As each new act is added to the line-up I try to contrast the feel and atmosphere the music and art will create. Most flyers spend a considerable amount of time trying to broadcast the typography as the focal point but in these I created a dynamic between the content and graphic to establish a relationship. This adds value to the branding allowing the fallowing to develop in a rapid pace.
